I just filled up my first tank since my trip to NY for Thanksgiving, so I thought I would compare my mpg results compared to last year when I made the same trip. My total miles last year was 1,769 vs 1,792 this year due to several local trips in NY. Weather was good both years, except I had bit more headwinds to deal with this year. Driving style is where I varied. Last year, I tried to stay at the speed limit when possible and half attempted for higher mpg's, but this year I traveled at least 5 mph over with no attempt at higher mpg's. Cruise control was used and lower grill blocked for both trips. I also had the original Yoko tires last year and this year I was running on new Bridgestone Ecopia EP422's.

    2011 mpg = 51.67
    2012 mpg = 49.83

Difference is 3.6% and 1.84 mpg. Pleasantly surprised as I thought the difference would be greater!

Is this calculated mpg's or read out from car's display?

I don't know - I don't have a scangauge or equivalent tool to measure. This is my third winter with lower grill blocked - so far no problems.

That's what you need to invest in now, get a SC2 just so you know for sure before anything bad could happen! ;)
