    Hi folks,

Looking for the screen dimensions for the nav screen so I can order a screen protector. I have a 2012 PiP Advanced with Entune. I'm trying to order a protector from NuShield but they have the incorrect dimensions in their system. I've tried calling Toyota/Entune and my local dealer and no one has the dimensions on file. Just wondering if anyone has these before I try to do it myself (I'm apt to screw it up).

    Thanks for the help!

    Erik

    Hi Erik
Are you looking for a plastic film or a sun-shield for it?

Can't imagine why you'd need one. It's a plastic surface, so it won't shatter if something hits it, and if you're using it in a way that would scratch it, you'll scratch a screen "protector" even more because they are a softer plastic. Screen "protectors" end up looking much worse than the screen they are "protecting", sort of like putting plastic slipcovers over good leather seats.

Mine is not the Advanced, but the plastic cowling over the display unit is very easy to remove, revealing the full display screen, which can be measured easily. Even if the plastic film is a bit larger than the display, the cowling will cover it; no need for an exact fit. You need a small pry-bar to snap off the cowling.

Had the car for three days and it I already scratched it. I just wanted to put a protector on it so keep it from happening again.

I wish it was a diamond that did it. I used the back of my fingernail to flick away a speck and it scratched the screen. Something I did hundreds of times in my 2010 and it never scratched the screen. I can only guess they are using a different coating now which is more sensitive.

Exactly what sort of tool would I need to pop off the cowling? Is it something you can get at an auto parts store?
