I don't have the PPP (just the 17" Plus forged rims) and get around 46-47 mpg on non-LRR tires. I could probably squeeze out a few more mpg but the wife demands heavy use of the heater in the mornings :/
Been running some ideas past the wife lately; speaking of miles per gallon, what do you think of a Three with the Plus swaybar, springs & the solar sunroof instead of going with the full Plus package with the 17's or a Five base? I am trying to keep the $$$ down a bit but still putting $10k down to get the payment & sales tax down. We also want to find a Salsa 2nd Gen for our daily driver/winter car BTW, I am driving a 3rd Gen rental this month. So far close to 2k miles driven Mike
That is exactly what I want to do. Prius III w/solar, lowering springs and rear sway bar but keep the 15s. You'll get much improved handling and retain maximum mpg and tires are almost half the price ($80 vs. $150). The car won't handle near as well on 15s but it is still a huge improvement. I'm currently riding on my 15s because I got tires of the mpg drop so my 17s with new LRR tires just sit in storage until I feel the need for bling.
Well, we could always work out a deal on a certain 2nd Gen salsa red car if you were interested......
Were gonna see if there are any 2012's at the dealer here in Florida tomorrow. I think they are open 7 days a week in this state. Officially I have to wait until May to buy or order my car but I still want to look around. Gotta listen to that new audio system anyhow Mike
A nice mix of 12's and 11's here in Florida. Dealers in Orlando selling 12's below sticker. No Plus or Solar packages to be found though I did get to listen to the 6.1 JBL in a Four last week and was very impressed with the sound quality and functionality. No Fives to listen to the 7.1 system. Mike iPhone
If Toyota was smart, they'd hire someone like you to go around to the dealerships and provide special Prius training. The average person has no idea how great these cars are. I'm easily averaging 52.
Not me. Maybe Cwerdna, Tideland, Paradox, usbseawolf2000, Tony, Danny, PatickWong, seilerts, etc.. Well, Toyota already sorta does that but they don't get sent to dealerships. It's not a bad idea though. Thank you for the vote, my friend.
Go talk with Diane at Carson Toyota in SOCAL. She will get you a Plus Performance Prius. No excuse for dealers to not know the vehicles they are supposed to sell customers. Mike
I ordered mine last March 2012. It is a Four Solar Plus Performance. The window sticker was $37,407. I paid substantially less than that. Do NOT pay window sticker price. Many dealers will cut you a huge discount. Ordering takes approximately 30 days from the day you have your order submitted to the day you get to see it in person. Very EZ to do and you get exactly what you want, not what some sales person says you look good in. Mike
