Most important here is the offset of the wheels; you can check from discount tire web site where they list the offset after the wheel size. The 215's are a bit taller at 24.6" vs 175/65x15's 23.95" and are somewhat heavier so you could expect a loss in mpg and acceleration. Having too little offset pushes the tire outwards where the wider tire width may interfere with the fender.
But the offset is critical because of the tire width 215 vs 175 so I would expect you to have OEM offset but hope you can tell us to prevent others from mounting wide tires on wheels with too little offset. Pardon my poor memory but I think OEM is 45 mm.
Installing 195/55x15 tires on 15x6 wheels with 40 mm offset is very close. I doubt my Miatas 215/45x17's will fit under the fender on 40 mm offset wheels.

Photos are not good enough. If you look at the back of the wheel it will have the wheel size, aka 17x7 and the offset, aka 45 stamped on the back usually of a spoke. For those interested in more cornering ability the 195/55x15 and 185/65x15 tires offer the best compromise to getmore cornering without losing mpg or acceleration.
As for the 16's having greater offset I need to check that. Wheels with offsets down to 40 mm have shown the best track lap times with the 185/65x15's having the best top speeds. I have a set of 215/45x17 tires on 7x17 rims with 40 mm offset from my Miata but I doubt they will fiut. First less cold day we'll try one.
It would be nice if there were real performance tires in thost 195 and 185 tire sizes but can't find any. We might try a set of VW Hoosiers but not for liong; 2500 lb is twice a FV weight.
But those those who like toget by minivans those tires, wheels, and de-activated front antisway bars are a trip.
