2012 Prius engine makes whirring noise

    I have a 2012 Prius and hours after my car is turned off and in my garage the car sounds like it’s trying to turn on. It’s as if you pressed the start button but didn’t put your foot on the petal to actually turn the engine on. It continues for awhile unless I get my keys, sit in my car, and turn it on properly and then immediately back off. It sounds like a whirring noise really. Does anyone else experience this and should I have it diagnosed at the dealer?

    So your car does this from time to time without having your keys near it or having turned it on?

    Whew! Well, I looked up Christine and I think I'm good with that not happening to my car....

    I can recall reading Christine, and thinking several times "dang this is a good book". Stephen King at his finest. (y)

    First time I heard those "hours later" sounds on ours, I just happened to be under it (I'm prone to do things like that): scared the cr@p out of me, lol.
