2012 Prius Five (non-Tech) Headunit Crashing

Anyone else experiencing regular crashing/disconnects with the headunit? This is the smaller headunit on the five that has navigation and bluetooth built in. The headunit itself regularly crashes, disconnects during phone calls, etc. Not sure if there's some kind of firmware update I can apply or anything like that, would prefer not to have to take it to the dealer.
