2012 Prius v (lowercase v for the Prius v wagon, not an uppercase v) 5 under the hood noises

    Hey Everyone I have a 2012 Prius v (lowercase v for the Prius v wagon, not an uppercase v. Only the 2010 Prius used uppercase roman numerals for model designation) with 145k miles on it. Recently there has been a rattling noise coming from under the hood during different points on acceleration, meaning at a certain point when I depress the gas pedal this rattling noise will sound. It doesn't always happen though just on and off but it is getting worse.

    Has anyone dealt with this issue before? Any suggestions? Thank you.

    Have you tried to replicate this while the car is in park? Any other issues with your Prius recently?

    The heat shield is attached to under the hood, or to the top of the engine?

    probably down low, follow the exhaust manifold.
