    They don't do inspections in Cali......only way it's fixed is if he ever gets a ticket for it & if he's friens with a sheriff he can just get its signed off.

    Now I did hear that if u get caught with a tinted windshield they will impound ur car but I haven't confirmed this yet.

    Cars looking good. Now u just need to give it a drop :d

    In California your only allowed a strip on the windshield, a tinted windshield is a safety violation and can be impounded not just a fix it ticket

    it all depends on the cop. I was pulled over once in my accord cause the cop said he couldn't see me. All he did was give me a fix it ticket.

    That is true not every cop will impound or even realize that the windshield is tinted. The Side and rear windows are a fixit ticket the windshield is a safety and the car is supposed to not be allowed back on the road

    No inspections in California. But visability is great at night, I had the same combination on my Lotus for a few years without any issue. 50% on windshield is just barely dark enough to make a difference in visability:

    Never heard of them impounding the car from a tinted windshield. I was pulled over a few months ago by a cop for the tints and given a fix it ticket, although he didn't notice the windshield and only mentioned the driver's side windows. Most people don't realize the windshield is tinted unless I mention it.

    It *might be safer, to have the windshield tinted, if you go with dark tint on the sides.

    In my previous car, I had 28% net (Texas law min 25%) on the sides and nothing on the windsield. I had trouble making wide left turns at unlit, rural highway intersections. Looking out of the side window to gauge the location of the raised divider medium was a pain in moonless nights. I now have 40% net on the sides, and wide spread LED headlights. It seems to be fine now.

    If the windshield is tinted, I would think your pupils would be dilated to maxium and you should have no problem making the transition from windshield to side window. Of couse, the safest course would be no tint at all, at night.

    I am still dreaming the auto dimming tint. Dark in the sun, clear (one-way) at night. :p

    Just a follow up - had some spare time over the weekend and decided to black out the door handles. Still undecided if this might be 'too much.' Thoughts?

    Emblems look good, are they painted or plastidipped? I used plastidip and the stuff is peeling, need to take them off the car and paint them properly

    I love the black roof vinyl! I was thinking about doing the same with my roof... Do you notice an increase in cabin heat due to the black roof?
