2013 Ford Fusion Hybird - Thorough C & D Review

    This guy Csaba Csere for Car and Driver does some really nice, thorough reviews and this one is 24 minutes. He even talks about fuel economy late in video; 36 mpg combined during his test. Long review, but a good one in my opinion.

    Unlike those 3-5 minute review jobs, this was a good one. Like the mpg tests at different mph.

    Other than the crappy MPG, I am overall pleased with the new Fusion. Other than a buzz from the overhead glass holder, fit and finish have been very good. It drives exceptionally well, on par with the 2010 Fusion Sport, which was like driving on rails. It is very comfortable, drove to Florida and back in it and not a single complaint on comfort. It is also very quiet inside.

    As far as tech goes, everything EXCEPT the My Ford Touch is great. the MFT has too many bugs in it still, and still has no Applink. If they ever get it fully fixed, it will be a nice system, but until then, its a PITA.

    I am just Hoping Ford can remedy the poor MPG it has, as it is just disgusting to be such a nice car, but not as fuel efficient as our 3 YO Fusion Hybrid.

    36.9 over 70.8k miles logged on fuelly.com

    Something is really screwed up here. The 2010 Fusion hybrid with 424k miles in 37.7 MPG. Should be quite the black eye for Ford is this keeps up. I would be pissed expecting 47 MPG and getting 37 actual.

    '11 Prius is 50 combined and that's what I get, although Fusion hybrid should be twice the driving experience.

    40 MPG would be a great benchmark for Camry, Accord, Fusion, etc ... hybrids. Nice gain over the 28 ish mpgs non-hybrids have been wallowing at since the ice age. They better not cost much more than $3.5k over their conventional entry prices. Ford is too much over regular Fusion. Camry hybrid LE only $3.4k over regular LE.

    if hycam is wallowing 28ish, than i am greatly mistaken. my wife is at 38mpg in her 08 on current tank and that's 2-4 mile trips several times a day in temps between 15 and 30 degrees. in summer, she runs low 40's.

    Sorry, I meant 28 ish MPGs for most non-hybrid midsize sedans. So, if mfrs can get real world 40 MPG averages out of midsize sedan (Accord, Fusion, etc..) hybrids at a $3.5k cost difference, that could be enticing for buyers. Camry is doing 40, but Fusion has problems it seems.

    Yep, the 2010-12 Fusion Hybrids are all doing well, just like the Toyotas, but this new batch from Ford are rolling in FAIL. Yes I am pissed! The car is nice, but sucks when it comes to MPG.

    What a bummer so far about this car. Surreal (in a bad way) that it gets 10 MPG less than EPA estimates. Great looking car and nice inside, but this is looking like a black eye coming for Ford.
