I am doubtful. Toyota press release claimed the 17" alloy wheels would have a "premium finish". The TSS wheels don't. I wonder if they will go black chrome or something cool. :) You can bet it is going to be a color or finish that compliments the black cherry paint.

because they have too many of them on the lots :).

Otherwise, there are price increases every year, this is one of the lowest ones they did...

hmm, I am interested in the plug-in prius because of the incentives and no price increase but the only few things about it is the lack of LKA, nautical blue color choice, and the remote car starter those are my deal breakers on it.

I thought the Prius PHV had remote start/pre-conditioning, or is that only when plugged in?

When I tried builing a PIP I did'nt see a option for remote car start, not to get confused with remote a/c btw.

Forgot it didn't do heating like other plug ins. Is that why you want remote start? I have remote start now, and never use it. An engine underload heats up faster than an idling one. Underload is usually only when moving the car, which is the time I only want to be burning gas.

Diesels and Toyota's announced high thermal efficient engines may not generate enough excess heat while idling to heat the cabin in a reasonable time.

I actually have a 2005 Scion xb in a black cherry pearl color. I love it! It sparkles in the sun :)

Sorry for the delay, but I wanted to provide you with a new link to images of the Prius Persona Special Edition MY13 that will be available shortly. The wheels as you can see are the same wheels as currently on a Prius Five model, but with a slightly more premium finish on them. I can tell you having seen this car in person, it's awesome looking. Our dealers got a preview and the feedback was fantastic so we're really excited to be bringing it to market soon. It'll be a limited run (time and volume) and available in Blizzard Pearl and Black as well as the unique Black Cherry Pearl.

Please let me know if you have questions or any issues with the link.

    Erica,
Thanks very much for the pictures link! Car looks great, though I was expecting something deeper in color. I'm assuming that by "limited time and volume" we are looking at a car that will be available soon, but not for very long. I'm looking to get one of these for a 3 year lease. Do you know if they will be leasing these Persona models out? My 12 year old Honda Insight is getting pretty long in the tooth, and my dream car (Tesla Model S) is out of my price range. A Prius like this for 3 years will get me to what will hopefully be by that time a more reasonably priced electric car.

    Thanks,
    RT

    Hi Erica,

thanks for the info. Can you please let us know whether the Prius Persona Special Edition MY13 will have auto-off headlamps like the Prius Three or auto-on/off headlamps like the Prius Four?

Also, do you know when the 2013 Gen III Prius will be arriving at dealers?

    thanks :)

Here's another image that shows the car in CA daylight in case it helps.

    IMG-20121024-00062.jpg

I can't imagine any reason it wouldn't be available for lease. We begin production on this Special Edition in December in Japan so the West Coast will likely see some units right around New Year's and the rest of the country about a few weeks later.

    Hope that helps,
    Erica

Yes, it's based on a Three, so auto-off headlamps only.

Gen III MY13 will arrive at different times based on your location but you could start seeing them out there on the west coast any day now, probably a few weeks behind for East Coast and MidWest due to travel times. Special Edition doesn't begin production until December 3, so we'll be seeing those later (Jan 2013).

Anyone know if moonroof can be added to Personal Series SE? Any photos of Seaglass Pearl Prius v?

Also, it's a bit disappointing that neither Eyes Free nor Message Access Profile (for text message over Bluetooth) are being added to 2013 Prius models.

The color isn't too bad but I prefer the Plus 17" rims over the ones selected by Toyota in the pictures. The interior looks very similar to my 2012 so I can't pinpoint what's different. I also agree with Nutmac's moonroof comment. This color would benefit with the moonroof option, aesthetically speaking. It's a pretty unique color but I still love my crimson red. :D

New technology will fall in price faster than old technology. Maybe the cost of the plug-in battery is a little less in 2013

Lol no, it's just that demand for the plug-in is much lower than expected, so it would be kind of silly to raise the price in that environment.
