2013 Prius Model 5: ATP Package w/Dynamic Radar Cruise Control

    We are a dual Prius family: 2007 Prius 2 and now with a 2013 Prius 5 with the Advanced Technology Package (ATP). The bells/whistles which accompany the Prius 5, primarily the Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC), were the main drivers for our purchase. Now with nearly 3 months of driving, we are VERY happy. I've scoured the manuals, forums and can't locate a simple question: When the DRCC is activated (re. deceleration occurring b/c the set distance is compromised), do the rear BRAKE lights activate/show just as they do when manually pressing the brakes?

    Mark nailed it. It depends on how hard it's decelerating. If it uses the brakes, the lights will come on.

    Try it at night, you can usually see the reflection of the eye level brake light in the mirror.
