Any luck finding footwell LED to replace the amber ones? Those are so dim.

Thanks for the link to the detais! 3mm T-1, got it. Our is a one piece lamp assembly with plug, this one looks like it's suppose to fit onto a socket.

OH, and how did you shoot the video to only have the footwell light turn on? is your's not wired from factory? thanks!

 

It takes some work but you can disassemble the led fixture into these components:


I used the outer housing on the left to hold the 3mm NEOx instrument panel LED --- it fits nice and snug.

For the video I took I turned off the overhead lights from the master switch --- then all you get is the footwell lighting.

Yep, not obnoxiously bright IMO, but definitely brighter than the factory bulbs.

I guess I am what you would call an LED freak. I don't like incandescent bulbs and have just about eliminated all of them from this car. Will try to replace the fog bulbs as the final swap out. If there was a decent option for the hi beams I would swap those out as well. Until someone comes up with an option I will just have to live with the halogens there. Everything else that i can get to is LED.

Never tried them, but they are cheap enough to by one to try out. These guys (superbrightleds) ship real fast.

 

would you say your's are on the dim side? looks like it from video.

 

Video was shot through the tinted windows (for the rear seats). It all depends on how much light you want. If mine look too dim ( in person about half again as bright as the factory ones) then there's no harm in trying something brighter. When I am in doubt I always order different ones and compare them side by side.

 

Yes, but replacing all of the surface mount LEDs is waaaay out of my skill set and comfort zone. I would gladly pay someone to replace all of the green with blue, or even include a color selection option (red, blue , or a combo of both). Just fantasy stuff. I don't really care for the green.

I don't remember the exact sequence but I did follow the directions in the manual. I do remember having to only have the jpegs in the root directory of the thumb drive. You just have to go into the settings function (I think I'm remembering that right) and choose if you want a different image for start up and display off. I think those are the only two options available. BTW, that image is from the National Aquatic Center in Beijing. Fits my blue theme just fine.
