    Hi all,

Wondering if anybody here can shed some insight on what may be going on with my 2013 Prius Plug. I purchased it used earlier this year and recently noticed an issue with the brakes - I often drive on crowded streets in Manhattan & Brooklyn with cars, taxis, bikes, pedestrians and occasionally, when I have to come to a sudden stop and hit the brakes harder than normal, the car will stop, then jump forward a few inches. Toyota can't find anything wrong with the brakes but I am very afraid that one day this will cause me to rear end a car in front of me or a pedestrian. Could this be a normal issue for a 2013 PiP or with the way I am applying pressure to the brakes? Or has anybody else had a similar problem and know what I could mention to the Toyota service dept? My previous car was an Altima so I am still getting used to the different ways in which to handle the Prius.

    Thanks so much,

    Andrea

I drove for 3 years a 2012 PiP, had the same experience in Manhattan traffic but never my vehicle behave like in your description.
Could it be your driver's nature at driving and suddenly stopping triggering the ASC control?

If you can make this condition repeat, you should try to get one of the technicians to ride along with you on a test drive. You drive, not the technician. If someone takes your car out for a test drive, chances are, you’ll never get a problem to reveal itself. It’s very hard for someone else to clone your particular driving habits and expect any results. That being said, your driving habits are probably exposing some quirk in the brake system that is causing this anomaly.

    One more thing:
Do you use your left foot for braking?
