2013 Prius Plug in 103k for $8400 is a good deal?

I need to get a better prius than the one I have right now (prius base 2007) but I can't spend to much
so I've been looking for gen III and found this Prius Plug in 2013 with 103k (white), it has some dents, it has an accident, and seems like they didn't match the color very good, also I noticed that the battery drains even though it's parked, maybe because its super hot here in Tx..? it's an independent dealership, they promised to change the tires, put new sensors and retouch the dents.

There is also another 2012 four, for the same price ($8400), but 73k miles. It has way more dents, but it''s fully equipped (blue navy), it is from an actual mazda/toyota dealership and they told me that they will take care of the dents, but I also noticed that ev mode didn't turn on even when it was running slow.

1.- Is the Plug-in battery failing since it didn't keep the charge while parked?
2.- is the prius four battery failig since it didnt activated the EV?
3.- Which car would you rather go for?

Which battery, and how do you know it drains while parked?

If it's the hybrid battery failing, we're talking major expense since it's out of warranty in TX.

On both, you need at LEAST a 30 minute test drive if you want to see how the traction battery behaves. Personally, I would not knowingly buy trouble unless I wanted a hobby.

the 2012 is under warranty for another 27,000 miles. they both sound like good cars, i would pull a carafe, and plug the vins into the toyota owners website and search the maintenance history. i don't like the sound of the accident, but you would need more info. also, if you want a plug in, charge it up and drive it in ev, see how far it goes. should get at least 10 miles on back roads, unless it's a hundred degrees out.

This is not guaranteed always. Only dealer maintained services would be populated(optionally owner can also add service records, but it may not be a real record of the service.).

It was draining when parked, so underneath the battery it has a number that is the calculation of how far the battery in EV mode can go for right? well, I was park and the decimals were going down, it was parked and with the A/C on, also when I tested drove it, when I was accelerating aggresivelly it also took a lot of decimals with that heavy step on the accelerator pedal. Is that normal?

They charged it up all night long, so when I got there and turned it on it said 11.3 miles calculation for EV mode, and when I was driving it, it took down a lot of decimals when I accelerated aggresively, it also was taking decimals while parked with the A/C on... is that normal though?

Yeah I looked underneath the car to check the CC, and it was rusty, they had to change some sensors because of the ABC light was on, and I asked the sales man if they would replace the CC and they say no.

everything on the bottom of a prius rusts, hard to know if the cc is damaged except to pass a smog test.
do you have a carfax? could it have been from the north, or flooded?

Back to the battery: yes, that sounds normal. Just like with the non, plug in, the car borrows energy from the battery when you first start the ICE in order to reduce load on the ICE. It will start putting it back after a couple minutes warmup. This is evidenced by your mpg indicator bar running around 75-100 mpg when you first start the engine and then suddenly dropping to about 30-35 once the engine takes over the load and begins recharging the battery. Then it will come up to normal once the ICE is all warmed up and the battery charged. This time of year, in FL, running the a/c, mine will borrow at least a half mile to almost a full mile of battery when I switch from EV to HV with EV range remaining.

As for the cat: it's hard to say. Like @bisco said, everything under there gets rusty. If it has a hole, you'll hear it. If something else is malfunctioning, you'll probably get a code. If you're concerned, maybe it would be safest to have a shop check it for emissions.

I am not sure, but my bank said they tried to look the vin up and they said that they couldn't find the title registered in Texas, but the guy say that it clean title and that the title is from Texas, I am just confused the guy don't want me to take it to the dealership to run the computer on it, and haven't responded on getting a technician to go and inspection it and run the computer on it....
