Well, I'm thinking Houston isn't such a nice place right now. If your airport is still open, there's still one Plug in Hybrid left here (assuming you have your heart set on a PiP -- he has other inventory, too).

Todd's a stand-up guy. I've bought four cars from him. In fact, if you time it when I'm free, I'll even pick you up up at the airport and drive up to see him. Then you can have a fantastic drive home on I-75 and I-10. :D

I appreciate the hospitality my friend, the thing is that my bank only pre-approved me $10,000. I like the car though.

without details of the accident, and check up at toyota, i'd have to pass. could be fine, but i'm not much of a risk taker.

I feel the same as @bisco about the PiP. I think I'd want to get it checked out. Failing that, ask for a 50 mile or so test drive to see how the battery responds. In fact, I'd want a fairly long test drive anyway (starting with a fully charged traction battery) given the behavior you described. That seems like a really good price, which makes me a little leery. If all that's wrong is the mismatched color, that would be easy for me to live with, but it makes me suspicious of the quality of the rest of the accident repair and what the actual damage was.

Yeah I totally feel you, and I am kinda hesitant right now since my 2007 prius doesn't want to start since the hurricane Harvey, that night I was driving towards my house, it wasn't flooded already, but it stop accelerating until it gave up. The a/c was working, and everything, but the gas engine just didn't want to start, so I turned it off and then on, and sometimes it came back, I had to tow it back to my house. Now I been trying to turn it on, I took the negative plug from the 12v battery, and re install it and it just turned on for a bit and then got the message "Problem" and went off back again. It had happened to me before, on a rainy day actually, last time I had to replace the whole battery..., any ideas?

you need to read the codes. or just replace the hybrid battery.

You will have to get the codes read to fix it. There are lots of threads here about various options. The simplest and most expensive is to have it towed to a Toyota dealer or a specialty shop that works on hybrids. The best option in my opinion is a mini vci cable and an old windows xp laptop. The mini vci comes with techstream software, which is what Toyota uses. There are also wifi or bluetooth OBDII adapters with apps for your mobile device such as Torque or EngineLink. But with the phone apps, you'll have the added step of getting the PID codes for the Prius before you can use it effectively.

It may be the hybrid battery. But it may be a leak to ground somewhere else. Or it could be something different. Without reading the codes, you basically own a collection of spare parts or a project car for someone looking for something to do.

I wouldn't want it. WAY too much money for all that damage and a salvage title to boot. And I didn't see any mention of the trim level.
