    Most used car dealers provide the carfax for free. Take a close look at the title status because this is below book value. You can find great deals from private sellers, but be extra careful when a dealer prices a used vehicle very low from the start. Dealers are in this to make a profit.

    I was thinking something along that line, too. You can get trouble for free; why buy it on purpose?
