Hi Michael. If you get a chance: could you see if the 12 volt battery is still in the rear hatch area?

    Thanks!

Our PT-"representative" just told me the 12V battery will now be located under the hood...

It's because of different whiplash protection standards. The US is stricter, and requires larger ones.

Interesting. It appears that the rear taillight configuration is different. The one at the US reveal had the brake light where the turn signal lamp is on the EU car. I believe the turn signal is up at the top in the US version.

Along with the whiplash and crash protection, the different markets vary on light placement.

Photos 75 (IAA2015--074) and 80 (IAA2015--079) - do these show a heads up display projector?

I see purple anodized preload adjusters around the rear shock. Pretty! Means I can haul more 2 x 4s.

Are the brake lights separated from the parking lights? I have not found any pictures or videos of the brake lights ON.

Are the brake lights LED or incandescent? It seems that Toyota is shying away from LED brake lights in the US. RAV 4, Highlander and Sienna have gone back to incandescent brake lights.

They're better than the Gen 2's JBL! The front speakers of the Gen 3 is nice. The rear is so-so. This is for the JBL unit.

Yes! This is what I was talking about. There are the same differences for the Gen 3. The US spec has the large, foldable rear headrests and the Euro-spec had the L-shaped height adjustable ones, the exact same designs (ok similar) as the ones shown here.

Is the indicator on in the Euro photo? That might explain two things

    1. The teaser video had two dots in the triangle at the top but in the Las Vegas one, we were told it was the indicators

    2. It might explain what the Chief Designer told me (who said the top was the brake lights, the middle was reverse and the one illuminated in the Euro photo above is the indicator).

    Ditto the Camry.

The brake lights are LEDs. We checked.

I like the sound of this quote from PR of all new Toyota Hybrids:
They have been set up so that they give a natural, immediate, but smooth response to any accelerator pedal input.

But I guess we will have to wait for the "first drive" reviews.
