My 2015 has logged 20K miles. The Maintenance Required message appears in the dashboard display. After changing the engine oil and filter, I tried to reset the message, but it refuses to reset.

    My procedure:

    1. Set Trip A counter to display, make car IG-OFF.
    2. Hold Miles/KM button down, depress POWER button two times.

The message refuses to reset. I've reset this message a few times during my ownership (since new) of this car, so what am I missing now?

    Thanks!

I start with the ignition off. While pushing down the miles/km button, press the ignition on button once to initiate the maintenance reset. A bar indicating the reset is in progress should appear. When the bar completes, the reset is done. Hopefully this works for you. ;)

If I press the POWER button only once, I just get a message saying to depress the brake pedal to start the car.

i wish i could help, but i have struggled with this in the past. sometimes it works the first time, sometimes it takes a few tries.
either way, i read the manual as i go through it each time, but it is not that clear.

My 2012 manual says to turn Power to ON mode. I think I usually go all the way to normal Ready, pressing brake pedal to start. But now that you ask, my memory is scrambled.

^ From page 428. My take:

    1. Turn car off with Trip A showing.
    2. With foot not on the brake, press-and-Hold MPH/KPH button and then push Power Switch twice (make the car "ON").
    3. Continue to press-and-hold MPH/KPH button, until odometer reads 000000. Hopefully...

(We don't have this fun in Canada. :))

    how about:

    1) make car ready

    2) set trip meter to trip a

    3) power down

    4) press and hold the mph button, and press the power button

    5) continue holding mph button until trip a read 000000 and the mid indicates the reset is complete

    6) no wonder i'm

You forgot to pat your tummy while standing on one leg:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:.

I just did this on our 2010 and when it comes up, make sure it is on Trip A before you shut the Prius down again. Then upon the next start attempt (like putting it into Ready mode), with the brake pedal depressed, hold down the mph/kph button and press the start button once.

Should see the bar for reset displayed.

    Good luck (y).

It definitely works for our II model from 2010.

Sorry, my picture taking is a bit poor:oops:.

    But you get the idea;).

I know it is missing the foot on brake, but I just hold the mph button down while I am starting the car normally.

Worked last week, but I have to figure this out on the RX450h as that just popped up today the wife is telling me now:cool:.

    Something to investigate this evening(y).

Ok so I had to go pick up dinner so I tried 2 different ways and got it to work both of them:):

    1. Pressing the mph button and then press the start button twice
    2. Pressing the mph button, holding down the brake pedal and pressing the start button once
So there appear to be options (y).
