2015 Ventilation System Odor

    I would say it is water standing in the drip pan then.

    You can try turning off the A/C compressor for a few minutes before shutting down the system. When you do that simply let the fan only run the last few minutes. Use a fairly high setting for the fan speed. This has been mentioned earlier by another poster also.

    It seems that you might be having a problem with excessive condensation. Sometimes this takes place in areas that have high humidity rates. The area you live in is close by the ocean, so that might be contributing to your problem.

    FWIW, a charcoal filter will help to eliminate a lot of the odors in the system. Ours got to stinking and I resolved it by putting in the expensive charcoal filter in the cabin filter. You might consider that also.
