2015 Prius II for $9000 with 200k miles An off lease or fleet vehicle... What sort of things would you be concerned about if purchasing this vehicle? The hybrid battery with 200k miles in 3-4 years, would this tax the cells as much or more if it was driven this heavy week after week (compared to a more standard casual driver over 5-15 years)? Same question regarding the engine Kbb still puts it around 17k I think...
Look at service records... Buying a vehicle that's never needed anything other than regular maintenance is a good indicator of health.... Heat is a killer when it comes to these hybrid batteries... If you're in Mesa, Arizona I'd suggest staying away from darker colored vehicles which absorb more heat faster than lighter colored vehicles. It's the same reason why they paint airplanes white, it keeps 'em cooler. The other issue with hybrid batteries is that if they sit for months unused, they can be problematic. But in this instance, that's not a concern.
What kbb are you looking at where a 2015 with 200k miles is valued at $17000? I'd be happy to sell you my 2015 with 16000 miles for $17000
dealer price in my neck o the woods is $16,000. believe it or not. meanwhile, my 2012 pip w/ 60k is only worth 10k.
Looks like I forgot to add in the mileage when I checked it prior. It does seem to KBB much higher here though. LA area is flooded with them, if I had the time I would have flown out and driven one back.
