Dealerships are telling me today is the last day for the $2000 2016 Prius Incentive and they have inside info that it'll be less tomorrow.

Well..... we have a few hours left.

It may not matter for a while given the G0W/G1W air bag recall. From the dealer instructions from Toyota:

I'll always be on there :)

Probably have to start a new one for 2017 soon.

Just wondering since your profile doesn't say, do you currently own a Prius or just looking to find the best deal on one for the future hence the deal threads?

I just checked a dealer I've been tracking a couple months and they removed the $2,000 incentive. Gulp. I'm hoping they are still in the mood for negotiating when I'm ready to make a purchase.

I also notice that the 0% for 72 months financing deal is gone as well. Does anyone have insight on what Toyota's thinking is? If the cars aren't selling (as evidence by another 22% drop in sales for September) and they've announced pricing on the 2017, it seems there motivation would be to get rid of as many 2016 models as possible. And if these advertised incentives are gone, are they still in play in negotiation?

I just chatted with someone at a Nashville area Toyota dealership and she said websites would be updated tomorrow with new incentives. Also, I noticed that three Prii appeared in the used inventory section. One was a Three trim with 383 miles on it for $24,762. Not sure if it has ATP. Another was a Three with 14,000 miles on it for $24,490 and the last was a Four with 4,704 miles for $28,885. I hadn't considered that route. I guess some dealers want to sell their floor models and there are also some that have been purchased and returned.

If you want to know if a Three has ATP or not, look at sticker msrp. It has to be above 29k

I just checked the Toyota site, the $2000 rebate & the $500 rebate/0% to 72 months is still valid until 10/31. September 2016 numbers have come out for Toyota, and although total sales on all their vehicles are up 1.5% from last year, Prius sales are down 25% from last year! A few things are going on here: the whole auto industry has been sluggish this year, gas prices have been very low and people are not focused on hybrids, and lastly the new design of the Prius (although I just bought one) is not very popular with a lot of people.

Given the fact that oil prices will creep back up due to some recent activity from OPEC, people will start to focus back on the Prius in the next few months. The 0% APR may not last as there have been discussions (although for awhile now) for the Fed to bring interest rates back up by year end if we continue to have a strong jobs report.

I went ahead and bought my Prius last Saturday to take advantage of the cash discount + 0% APR for 72 months. Low vehicle price + 0% interest rate is a double gift that does not happen very often :)

I got the 2016 Toyota Prius 2 for:

    MSRP: $25,388
    Discount: ($3,288)
    Cash Rebate: ($500)
    Sale Price: $21,600
    Taxes 9% CA: $1,989
    License & Fees: $411
    Total Amt Fin: $24,000

I probably could have saved approx $300-400 if I choose the $2000 rebate and then brought in my own financing at 1.9% at 60 months, I felt like this was a pretty good deal as it already was.

I think the best time to purchase is at the beginning of the model year or at the end of the model year. If you are worried about resale value within 3 to 5 years, get it at the beginning. If you want the best price and plan to keep it beyond 5 years, go for the end. I'll try to run the wheels off mine so I won't have to worry about trade in value when I purchase a new car. If it's worth nothing, there won't be any haggling. Whatever they give me is worth getting rid of it.

the local dealer here had a whole bunch of 2016 Prius at the beginning of the month.
Had one 2 ECO as of today. The 0% 72 month financing sold a lot of cars here!

If you want a Prius, you need to place your order a 2017, and wait.

I read somewhere that if your car is affected, Toyota will contact you.
I purchased my car in June, no letter yet.

I don't know what dealer tells buyer on recalled brakes.
