Just took receipt of my first Prius after hearing all of the wonderful compliments from current Prius owners. So far, have been impressed by mpg and ride quality but have two questions. First, the dealer does not appear to be able to order mud guards for this vehicle -- are they available elsewhere. Second, in the glove box are two circles of foam with one side being a paper covered adhesive - what is their purpose.

    Thanks in advance.

The Prius mud guards are indeed available for sale, but they will be European accessories.

Welcome to PriusChat. I didn't get any foam pieces on mine. Not sure what they would be used for.

    Enjoy your new car.

What size are those "foam circles"?

Mudguards are available here in Europe.
Could you post the pics of these 2 pieces of foam you have found?

Foam pieces: Rattling dash board fix? (They are "pre-staging" the pieces.)

I too got those two strange black circles wrapped in plastic. Did not open them and almost forgot about them. They are still in the glove box. I wonder what they are?

Whatever their identification is, I'd find them a hard pull to swallow.:D

Yea!!! I know what they are for!! I too had these in my new Prius, only about 12-14 of them in the glove box! Called Toyota and left a message with them, got no response. Then when I was out there for their "new owner" meeting/dinner I started asking about them (had one with me). After showing it to three different Toyota people, and getting different answers (from no clue, to oh those are for sticking in places to stop squeaks), somebody finally really knew. In the hatchback/trunk area, on the back side of the back seats there is a rubber-type mat covering and these thingies are stuck on there to velcro the rubber protective backing up - protects the back side of the back seats from stuff in the trunk.

That's what those 'new user' meetings are for! Wanted to go myself but canceled a few days ago. I thought: what new can they tell me? :)

Cool! Thank you. Will have to give it a look to understand better.

I'll never turn down free food... Also, regardless of the spiel, you may pick up some tips. And if like in our case it's the Service Manager giving the talk, and a walk through the service bays is included, it's interesting, you can read between the lines, get a feel for the place. No matter where they're at, it's good to keep a dialogue going.

Except in my case I had to take infamous 405 for some 20 miles in rush hour. When we were going to get the car we sat in traffic 2mile pet hour. I texted the dealer that I stuck on 405. And she responded: This is why they call it 4 0 5 - 4 or 5 HOURS! In our case it was more like 203, but still you realize that your food may be not exactly free
