If there is no sunroof/solar roof option, I will have no interest in it.

    You're in luck, sort of.
Yes to the sunroof. Saw it with my own eyes.
Uncertain on the solar roof. It was not represented in Vegas.

Knowing Toyota you never know, they might have something even better than the solar roof up their sleeve to keep the interior cool while the car is parked in the sun !

I'm in South Florida so I have zero interest in a sunroof. When I lived up in NY I had a few cars with sunroofs. I ended up using them 3 or 4 times a year.

Good find. I "liked" it, but I don't like it. :(

Think I'll stick with this for a bit:

Looks really nice when rolling with the center black. The current 17" weighs 26 lbs. Hope the new weighs less.

Yeah they are heavy. Feel it in my back every spring, putting them back on.

And the 15" lightweight alloys are super light :). I think they're 15 lbs (give or take).

Yeah, but those third gen 17" alloys are so pretty. The new 17" without the plastic, reminds me one of my teeth with the crown popped off, lol.

Looks like we won't have to find center caps if we remove the plastic. nice.

Yeah, but driving around with black wheels, with open connection holes? They should seriously shake up the department making the design decisions on rims. They used to just mess up the 15" rims; now they're turning their attention to the 17's too. :(

Just my opinion, I really don't care for the "murdered" look. If you pay a lot of money for a car, it should shine (I know some will say then all cars look alike).
I like the chrome with black accents. Or, ever some of the wheel covers that dress up a steel wheel.

Some guys are spending big money on a set of wheels with tires that look like rubber bands. Ever follow one of those guys? They will take off fast but a RxR crossing will slow them to a creep. If they have not modified the brakes, guess what? That BIG wheel acts like an extension pipe on a wrench . They have their foot on the brake but it is not stopping.
Most Prii owners will never, ever have this problem. The limit on the wheels is the height of the bottom of the strut. If it touches, don't do it.

Those individual inserts snap out. As soon as we realized they pop out, we started talking about after-market color options or solid with texture, etc.

I thought they may be bolted in from the inside. Lexus RX color insert offerings!

True but they are a bit chunky. The new 17" without the plastic looks like a blacked out Celica GTS wheel.

Umm, at least for the 17". I think the 15" are full wheel covers so we may still need to find centre caps (or transfer them from the Gen 3 if they fit).

Not sure. I didn't pull hard enough to find out. I didn't want to damage the red car which is clearly the one they're using for marketing. I only pulled enough to show on the live broadcast that they're inserts and not painted.

Btw, these are wheels to get!!

18" Modelllista wheels from that YouTube video you posted (Staff Manual).

Here they come! Red in the pictogram, blue in the thumbnail below. It's labelled "Wheel access piece (blue)" or something like that... not sure what the last bit says (to-bi-su.. sounds like piece but I don't know what the "to" would be)
