Its my wife that's getting 2016 Prius Eco but I will take a day and shop around for her, will also have the possible trade in with me. I just tell them that I'm shopping for my wife. I only did 2 dealers last time but this time will use 3 or 4 dealers. I kept $1700 last time I traded by going with the cheaper dealer. It pays to shop around. I financed my 2015 through Southern Toyota finance at 2.9% for 5 years. I've not been paying on it a year yet and plan to pay it off in early 2017. So the interest rate is not that big of deal, will probably do the same with my wife's new 2016. I wonder what the going interest rate though Toyota is with over 800 credit score?

Safest bet, use public transport or park your own vehicle far away and walk to dealers. LOL

Fyi, I just saw on Toyota's website within my zip code of local specials - they all of a sudden have added $500 cash back WITH the 0% at 72 months. Darn, I could have saved that extra $500...

Sorry for the very late reply. I was very distracted by work...
I got a silver Prius IV with ATP & PCP for $30,002 OTD, about $27,500 before tax and title fees.
Now is probably the best time to purchase a 2016 liftback at a great price. The 2017 model will be released very soon. Toyota's website already shows the 2017.

Toyota extended the $2000 off on the 2016's until October 3rd.... at least in MA.

Kind of disappointing. I was expecting them to at least extend the Northern California $2,500 Cash Back offer to the rest of us. They have boatloads of 2016s to move.

if they continue to have boatloads, the deals will just keep getting better. have to make room for 2017.

No such luck in the UK - we pass the dealer i stole the showroom model from 6 months ago most weeks. Without going in, we've only seen the demo model parked outside....
I was expecting to see a lot of Gen 4s on the road in August, but nope...
I wish i had been able to find a dealer with dozens of unsold Priuses and name my price!

Perhaps the dealership keeps unsold inventory off-site. That's common practice in many urban settings where the showroom is in a business district and inventory is in a warehouse area. Cost of square footage....

Well you can thank me for the discounts because of buying something else:

So I announced that I’m running around looking for a 2016 Prius ECO with TSS-P. I would, one of the early things I would do, probably before I even got in, and I wouldn’t even use - you know, I know the smartest negotiators in the world.

I don't want to say buy anything. I'm talking about a fair war. I'm talking about also, I have the smartest people on PriusChat lined up already. They're going to represent us on Japan, on Germany. Germany, by the way, is taking our jobs. I love the German people. They're great people. But the leadership is too smart for our country.

    You can believe me.

I personally like the 2nd Prius body style than the rest. It just looks like a Prius. The 4th gen and and Prime looks more like every day conventional sedans.

Southeast region dropped the $2000 cash back. It's now part of a dealer incentive. Picked up a Gen 4 Touring on Saturday $6K off MSRP. We couldn't wait any longer as our 2nd car was totaled in early August.

The design Engineers must have failed Aesthetics 101 as the 2016 is ugly lighting Front and back.In addition to the black plastic piece separating the roof from the side body they ruined the overall sheet metal upgrade.

Sales of Gas Cars Must End by 2035 to Meet Climate Goals, what does that mean for Prius? Also all Gas cars will be off the roads by 2050....should we even be wanting to buy new cars with this goal set by our world leaders! I happen to have great concern with what will happen to collector cars and what will happen to them. I sure hope SEMA is gearing up to protect the collector.

I don't see a problem for car enthusiasts. By that time, most of the public who only need transportation will be on board with whatever is being offered in the main stream. I think there will be plenty of room for those who don't mind paying for their hobbies.
