That's silly. After enjoying the car for over a week, the white console and trim kind of works. I'm still going to put on the appliqué when it arrives, but hardly a reason not to buy.

No spare tire in the trim I wanted, reason enough for me.

It was definitely a problem for me but not the only one which prevented me to buy. I found that with the new sporty shape, the visibility out is decreased. I also felt there was less headroom for the backseat but I have not confirmed if it is just an impression or not... For the time being I will be keeping my 2010 fully loaded Prius, I am not in a hurry and that will give time to Toyota to iron out the bugs and possibly getting a different option for the white plastic... By the way, is leather available on the 2016 Prius or only Softex? I loooked at the Rav4 hybrid and even the most loaded version only has Softex (at least in Canada).

    Interesting.
    I never knew that.
    But it makes perfect sense.
Probably explains why when I first got my Prius the tires were inflated to way beyond the recommended PSI.

On US versions, only Softex. I've had it on my last four, and it isn't bad really. I think for dealer add on's they used to offer leather seating. Understood about waiting for a refresh. When was the first refresh after the 2010? I think it was 2013, so probably half way through. Visibility though is still really good, Headroom in the backseat isn't an issue since i sit in the drivers seat only, haha!

I'm personally glad they dropped leather on some of their cars, buying cars and trying to avoid leather is such a pain. Toyota seems to be one of the few manufacturers that is making it a bit easier.

SofTex only. Leather was gone for 2012 onwards.

The Toyotas with leather include Camry XLE, Avalon, Sienna XLE/Limited, Highlander (first 2 rows. SofTex on 3rd row), 4Runner, Sequoia and Land Cruiser. Corolla, RAV4, Camry SE, Sienna SE and Prius, Prius c & Prius v use SofTex.

I loved the softex that was on my Persona. It did not get too hot in the summer or too cold in the winter unlike real leather. Easy to clean too, just wipe down and no maintenance like real leather requires occasionally. So a win-win!

here are few reasons why i skip previous Gen Prius even though i easily get $7500 off MSRP
due to numb steering feel, uninvolved roadholding, lots of body roll, and torsion beam rear suspension that feels like you’re riding on overcooked spaghetti when the road gets twisty. and it does look like a potato/refrigerator on wheels in my opinion.

2016 Prius (TGNA) = much quieter and better handling, looks like a normal car, a new 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine is capable of more than 40 percent thermal efficiency ,re-engineered every component of the hybrid system to increase efficiency, a standard energy-efficient Li-Ion battery except base two model, standard LED headlights and tail lights.Im doing 62-65 mpg daily average on my eco model and better yet i can easily achieved 60+mph in EV mode (no ICE) while going freeway speeds , and many more advantages to list on……enough reasons for me to pick 2016 Prius.

I checked with my local dealer, seems blue/beige isn't available with the ATP. :( Ah well! I'll still love the regular 4. I might spring for the alloy wheels or the storage rails for my bikes with the saved money. Super excited -- sat in the display car at the dealership for a good few minutes last night. Hits port in just a week. Woo!
