Both teams' starting pitchers have indistinguished themselves, but not to the same degree. 5-0 HOU top 3rd.

tough to hate on a pitcher with a donut on the board, regardless of how he got there. they're all tired.

McCullers going for hit-batters record. Turner is not amused.

Another unfortunate baseball record is runners stranded on base in a game, 20. Dodgers may have a shot at that. A gif of Addam's family Lurch might be appropriate; more so with sound.

Here play two teams with exceptional (and similar) offense and defense. If baseball means anything, this series does, this game in particular.

Tonight, Houston is doing baseball conspicuously better.

As we await outcome, what is sport?

In many sports, players continuously reset themselves as 'field positions' change.

In rugby and American football, players have moments to recollect themselves before crashing into each other.

In baseball (and perhaps cricket) most players stand idle most of the time. Much in those sports 'happens' off-field where non players decide what to do next. This appeals to chess and other sports where thinking prevails over doing. Baseball fans would make much of this, and make less of all the standing-around time we suffer, watching this sport.

I wonder how this thinking/doing duality figures and perhaps we could discuss it here?

Tonight Houston will win; earned not stolen. They brought a better combo of pitching, hitting and thinking. In other words, they earned it.

mostly boring to the young generation of mtviewers, there is has a small resurgence due to nfl issues.
i have never watched 9 full innings of baseball, and don't know anyone who has. not even when i was at the 6th game of the 2013 world series.

They used to let us watch the WS at/during elementary school. I watched it for years until the big player strike. I turned away and have been disinterested every since. Don't know why it bugged me so back then but it did.

The only thing that needs to be taken out is the constant “injuries”.

It starts at a young age. For example, at my sons soccer game a couple of weekends back (he is 6), there were at least 5 (probably more like 10) occurrences where a rouge ball strike or going for the ball led to someone on the ground where you thought they broke a bone:eek:. Then 15 seconds later to pop right up and run after the ball:whistle:.

But soccer is a universal sport with very little equipment required:).

It also involves a lot of running, so effective at expending excess energy;). Say that 5 times fast(y).

    Could not agree more!
    Spectacular post season!!!

I was rooting for more of a Nats-Indians sort of ending, but I have to give it to Houston and to the MLB.
