sorry, i have never heard of 'fair profit new car offer' but there are others who have used aaa, costco and etc. i just email a bunch of dealers i'm willing to drive to and go with the cheapest.
Just went to the dealer yesterday and gave us a quote of $25,700 for 2018 Prime Plus. This doesn't include tax and license and the cash back rebate since we are planning on using 0.9% APR.
that seems pretty reasonable. there is a prime pricing thread that might have some pricing in your area. are you near carson toyota?
Not that close but I believe its about 2 hrs drive. I have friend which is a car broker and hopefully he can give me a better deal than this offer from the dealer.
I might have to fly out west to get a prime. Pluses here are 28k, no discounts. Listed at msrp. I would still save 2k to buy one and have it shipped.
reading how much you guys paid for, i felt like an imbecile at the negotiating table. just got the 18 prime premium $29,000 otd (not counting the $500 rebate here in CT) with the 0.9%apr. should have consulted this forum before going to the dealers.
No avance trim in SoCal? I check a few deal website, include longo, autonation, tustin, etc, and none of them have advance trim in stock. Most are plus, with a few premium. Since I just started looking, I am not sue what's going on.
Hello I just purchased my Prius 2018 three touring. I wanted to share my price since it was so helpful to read and get help before purchasing my Prius! Thank you for sharing the wisdom. Most of the places I contacted were San Diego dealers. Also I contacted Carson Toyota. Their deal was the best, but I bought it in SD since it’s so much closer to where I live. OTD was $28,438.22 Sales price $25,970 MSRP $29,258.00 I hope this will help!
BlueJade can you tell me if you had a 2,500 incentive taken off? I am looking at the Prime Premium 2018 and the lowest so far is 29,000 flat with an additional $2,500 cass incentive. Then I have to add fees: DMV (115) one I forget what it is (417) and state tax - I live in OR (1325). She didn't mention the usual transportation fees (895) so must be folded into the 29K price. Total walking out the door with all taxes should be $28,357 True Car says the average is $26,913 - I have no idea if this includes all the fees I listed above. I am pretty sure it would the rebates/incentives. Following another calculation: MSRP from Toyota's website 29,920 - Holdback (1-3% of MSRP) 585 = Total Dealer Cost 29,335 29,335 - 2500 rebate + fees = True Dealer Cost 27,367 (this does not include sales tax) Add that to the sales tax = 28,692 Any thoughts?
I went with a Prius Prime Advanced because it had the technology most close to the Tesla Model 3 (which I was considering) and cost a minimum of $30k less. I narrowed dealerships down to Hoffman Toyota in CT (rebate was $3,500) or CarMax Laurel Toyota in MD. I ended up going with CarMax because I was able to trade in my 2013 Prius Persona in Atlanta and pick up my new car in Maryland. In addition the dealer fee was very low at CarMax eating up less of the rebate. The sales representative at CarMax, Steve Yang, was awesome! The deal they presented was the deal that I got when I arrived in MD - they were extremely easy to do business with as an out of state customer. - Model/color: Advanced / Blizzard Pearl - MSRP (this is sticker price): $34,614.00 - Incentives (specify if Toyota rebate or dealer markdown): $2,500 manufacturer incentive from Toyota - Selling price before TTL: $33,858.00 - Out the door price (after TTL/fees, specify tax %): Dealer fees: $118.00 / Tax $7% paid in Georgia outside of transaction was $1521.32 but added here for accuracy / Rebate applied of $2500.00 OTD - $32,997.32 excluding trade. With tax credit of $4502 drive out is $28,495.32 - CarMax Toyota Laurel in Laurel, MD with Steve Yang - Financing: Through Georgia based Credit Union at 3.95% - Date of Sale: October 22, 2018
