i had prius 2 2017.when i bought it mpg was 72, within 3 years gradually decreased to 55 mpg. I drove 85k miles. Yesterday i dropped it, and got 2020 le. Mpg is 46 which is very poor. I talked to dealer, he said it will increse as i will drive. I see sometines going up like 46.2, 46.3, when i apply more gas going down. I regret to get the new one. 2017 prius 2 was much more better. Maybe i raise this problem and complain to toyota.

Welcome, Dragoman. It doesn't look like you have any answers yet. I don't think you'll get an answer if that's all the information you're going to share. There are some pretty smart people here but only a couple claim to be mind readers.

Unless you describe your driving conditions and driving style, it's just a complaint. We'd need some information like: do you make hard stops frequently, drive at high speeds, have low tire pressure, dragging brakes (unlikely on the 2020), hard acceleration? Stuff like that. Just saying that it's getting low fuel economy is like the guy who called me to his press when I was an industrial electrician and just said to me, "It's broke." I told him, "I'm good, but I'm not that good." ;)

    ONE day is not enough.
And depending on the displayed MPG numbers is not good either.

You need to fill the tank and reset one of the trip odometers, which should also reset it's associated MPG calculation.
Then drive it for a few weeks.

I also have a 2020 prius le. I've had it since October 2019. So far the average has been 58.1 mpg. I mostly do long country road driving though. My previous car was a 2010 prius II, which had 110k miles, at 44 mpg average before I lost it in a crash.

Mine was like that too, then it got better. Maybe the ECU needs to calibrate itself?

I believe mine went down, not up, in the first 13,000 miles I've owned it.

I'm now at about 40.2 MPG with Fuelly.

But... I'd say that mine may be quicker from stop lights and such than many earlier Gen4's. I'm wondering if Toyota bumped up the torque output ability on the newest Gen4's, and this may be why mine leaves most other traffic behind when the light turns green.

Mine did something odd today. For the typical 20-some mile commute in to work today I normally run about 41 MPG. Today's average was something like 49.5 MPG. I don't understand why.
