I'm picking up a 2020 Prime XLE at the end of this week. I read on other threads that Toyota just uses Gentex ADVGEN40A4 mirrors as "OEM" so I'm considering just doing this one myself. I've seen videos of other Vehicles (such as Nissans) having the connector for the autodimming mirror just sitting up in the ceiling of the car already, behind the map light pop-out, making it fairly plug and play. Is this the case with the 2020 Prime XLE as well? Or am I going to need a wire-tap or something similarly invasive?

You'll need a Prius specific mirror, as it has a longer 'stem' to clear the front camera cover.
Can't speak for 2020, but '18 and '19 aren't pre-wired and you have to run wires and tap in.

Do you know if the mirror used on the 2011 Prius-III would work on a 2020 Prius Prime?

no clue, but highly doubt. Did they have lane assist in 2011?

No. Does the lane assist use cameras mounted near the rear view mirror?

No reason you can't easily do it. Seriously, it's a two wire hookup. I wouldn't even let a dealer touch it. Refurbished mirrors can be had for 60 bucks easily.
