2022 Prius LE Driver Armrest Illumination

    Hello - I have had my 2022 Prius LE for a little over a month. My wife normally drives it but the other night I was in the driver seat and I needed to unlock the doors for her. I looked at the driver side armrest and I did not see the lock/unlock buttons illuminated. Neither was the window locks button. But the electric mirror button was illuminated as well as the driver side window up.down switch. I called the Service Dept from the dealer I bought the car from and asked if those buttons that I mentioned should be illuminated. The service person did not know and also said that there was no Prius LE on the lot to check. So I thought I would seek the advice of this forum...should those buttons be illuminated. Thank you - Mike

    That's the way my 2021 is; only the driver's door window button is illuminated for reference. I believe the engineers decided you shouldn't be looking down there while driving and simply gave you a reference point; so you can feel for the rest of the buttons.
    Other forum members stated that the original 2017 had illumination on all buttons and you may be able to swap it out; if it really bothers you. I believe it was around $900 new; possibly find a lot cheaper used one on Ebay or a scrap yard.

    There is no additional LED illumination in the 2021- and newer PPs. Model year maybe slightly off for the regular Prius, but seems, the 2022 Prius has the same door switch as the 2021-2022 Prius Prime.

    It's not that bad. It is only $551.40 (MSRP) for the switch off from 2019-2020 model (parts NO. 84040-47090)
