TBH, that video is pretty crappy + it feels it could be at least a tenth of the current length and retain the same amount of "information".

Here they are again…this time talking about design, practicality and noise. Love these guys. “It’s almost a sunroof.” : )

At last Savagegeese released review of Prius PHEV.
Haven't seen it yet, but will most likely be another excellent, nitpicky review.

I watched this and have been meaning to ask current owners on here about visibility compared to Gen 4. Everyone mentions the lack of rear visibility but my first reaction when I sat in the 2023 was the decreased visibility with new windshield. It was actually shocking to me. Initially I thought it might be because I’m short and the seats sit so low. I was only sitting in one for a few minutes and adjusting the seats didn’t make much of a difference. He validated my feeling it’s a bit claustrophobic.

Are you used to this now that you’ve been driving the 2023 for a few weeks?

I have trouble reaching parts of my 2009 dashboard too.

I was just in the vicinity of the dealership. First time having a chance to park right next to a 2023. Surprisingly the dashboard is not really much deeper.

The 2023 Prime makes my Prius look so tiny from the front. I will really miss my 2009 when the time comes. I’ve only been attached to two other cars in my life. A 1967 VW Bug and my 1993 SAAB 900. I cried watching the tow truck drive away with the SAAB. It took really good care of me. Well…that’s way off topic.

Indeed, it seems each gen of the prius has been getting lower and I found in my prius IV it always felt like I wanted the seat higher then what it should be at to get a comfortable feel for the drive. Anyway, sure it will be a home run in the sales department with the new power the gen 5 edition offers.

An aside comment though as I do wish to share my thoughts about my ford maverick XLT purchase with less than1,5k miles on her. I am sort of digging my 2023 ford maverick hybrid presently, cheap interior components and painfully basic lane keep assist it offers, not withstanding. Plus liking the Area 51 color. It is sort of like the ‘off green’ color I had on my prius 4 back in the day. The color seems to change based on time of day.

My brief Maverick comparison to the Gen5 written in very bad verse…
Not a prius it be, though liking the smooth hybrid/ice flow beneath. It is quiet like water as it ebbs and flows yet no ecvt sound seems to be heard. The slight lines out, both front and back, are as smooth as the Gen 5 body be.

No issues with head and leg room, nor access be. Nor must I bend down nor crawl out when travel need be done. Though no hatch there be, if weather be fair, it can carry its load with no end in sight…if looking above :)

In matters of the heart it be true it is the prius I yearn for, Her lines so smooth and shapely yet it is the Maverick that now occupies that place. Yes, that special place a space…in my driveway.

Yet…yet…sadly, it is the elephant in the room as her size vs the Prius denotes. She only shows 39.x mpg on long trips of mostly highway speeds. This due of course to the size of her body, which to her I never speak nor I offer should any man to a woman he wishes to keep. Though flowing, I confess she is not slim nor short of height.

Yes, I will still dream of a Gen5. Her looks and curves for certain seduce. And now, with her new found power! Lordy how can one refrain wanting to touch, feel and let that engine exclaim. My Mav and I will wave of course, as we pass on the highways and byways. Each time I will softly say to my Mav, “Why no, I was noticing that Gen5’ as it approached :)

Kinda unexpected video regarding Prius PHEV and solar option, made by MKBHD o_O

It is sadly shot on iPhone 14 Pro, so the colours and white balance changes every few seconds, which makes it pretty annoying to watch.

Like his video and thoughts even though he did not show driving video. Plus i figure this is not your grandpa's prius and might just might smoke some cars off the line. Not many mind you but more then the other driver beside them realize.

The visibility in front would be an issue for me on the 23, I can see that, that’s what I didn’t like about the Volt. Gen 4 isn’t perfect, and an 2009 isn’t either. Neighbor bought a new 2021 Forester and I guess visibility was a big concern is why he got it. Maybe he was the smart one. I’m satisfied with the Gen 4 front visibility though, can adapt to it. The windows are much taller than the 23 as are the 2009 windows. I like that side view better also. Speed etc are not important to me at all in the 23.
