Me want 2023 Prius NOW. When pricing? When buy?

Seriously tho does anyone know when pricing will be available for the US, when a person will actually be able to buy one, and how long the wait will be from purchase to delivery?

January 10, 2023 (original release date was December 20, 2022) is when the Prius HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicle) will be released and then delayed for 2 months according to Creative311 web site. That delay might be for Japanese market though because they'll have access to the 1.8L Prius HEV as well as the 2.0L HEV and they have lotteries for the anticipated tight supply. So we'll get prices on or slightly after that and US customers may start seeing them on the dealer's lot about a month after that, probably mid to late February. The Prius Prime (PHEV in European and Japanese markets) will be released on March 15, 2023, so we'll get prices around that time frame. We might see the first ones roll off the ships about late April, early May. The bulk of the Prius Primes will be going to Europe and then to CARB states. Good luck.

    Hello,

    I'm seeing the pricing here:

Toyota's Attractive New 2023 Prius Costs $2375 More Than Before

And the only reference to a comparison with the prices of the older generation is made with the entry level Eco Gen 4 that is no longer in the new line-up, so unuseful.
Can i ask you for the rest of trims if you see increase in prices and how much?
    Thanks a lot.

Well, Gen5 Prius Prime prices are not out yet. But if they are in line with other models' price increase , then even the lowest trim Gen5 PP is going to start above the $30k mark.

Without tax credit, it will be at least $6k higher than Gen4 PP. ... But more like $16k higher for my experience considering a huge incentive Gen4 PP enjoyed while lasted and likely a huge mark up Gen5 will see.

These are the US price comparisons. I'm using the Toyota website for 2022 MSRP and the official Toyota release for 2023. Numbers in parentheses are the dollar and percentage price increase.

    Prius HEV Pricing

    2022
    LE - $26,285
    LE AWD - $27,685
    XLE - $29,295
    XLE AWD - $30,125
    Ltd - $33,370

    2023
    LE - $27,450 (+$1,165/+4.4%)
    LE AWD - $28,850 (+$1,165/+4.2%)
    XLE - $30,895 (+$1,600/+5.6%)
    XLE AWD - $32,295 (+$2,170/+7.2%)
    Ltd - $34,465 (+$1,095/+3.3%)
    Ltd AWD - $35,865 (N/A)

    Option Cost:

    LE:
    $85 - parking assist w/ automatic braking

    XLE:
    $275 - digital key capability
    $735 - 12.3" display
    $1000 - sunroof

    Ltd:
$1085 - panoramic view display + self parking
$200 - digital rear view mirror
    $350 - heated rear seats

edit: I changed all the 2023 numbers because the original Car & Driver numbers I used must have included destination charges. Since that wasn't an apples to apples comparison, I redid the figures.

Heard the 2023 CR-V went up $5000. So this isn't bad in that comparison. The base Prius now costing as much as the old base Prius Prime isn't a good one though. The new Prime looks to be over $40k for the top trim.

Yeah. Our RAV4 Prime pricing for 2023 went up $4,000 CAD.

For the Prius, it’s up $10,000 for the Limited trim and $6,000 base trim (no LE for us).

I don't think there will be a sub $30K Gen5 PP in the US. That is unless Toyota moves the assembly line to North America and starts getting a full tax credit.

Would you care to be more specific? Which part is wrong? The 2022 prices, the 2023 prices, the price difference, the percentage difference, the option prices?

Ahh, my model prices were actually correct, but my subtraction was incorrect when doing the comparison of the Limited.

Since the destination fee didn't change from 2022 to 2023, it doesn't really affect a price comparison between the 2022 and 2023 models. Percentage-wise, it actually reduces the price increase over last year by a couple tenths of a percent.

    Incorporating the destination fee:
    +4.3% - LE
    +4.0% - LE AWD
    +5.3% - XLE
    +7.0% - XLE AWD
    +3.2% - Limited
