    Hey guys!
    Long time Prius lover here.
I am really interested in trying to fit a Camry hybrid 2.4 engine and trans into a 2nd gen prius.

I am in search of technical knowledge , not just opinions.

I am wondering if it is even possible due to these concerns:
    Battery size
Engine size (will it even fit?)
The electrical components needed to make it ready up

I have a parts car Prius, and finding a Camry hybrid to do some measurements.
My time spent in a Camry hybrid has been thousands of miles- the power is amazing, the MPG is negligible loss (however Prius being lighter would help a lot)

It would be a dream swap of mine.
As well as a highlander hybrid V6 270hp swapped into a 2007 tacoma (rwd for simplicity)

    Any thoughts?

    Any thoughts?

    You've lost your mind?

At any rate, it sounds interesting. I wish I knew more about the Camry to provide something useful. I hope it goes well for you.

anything can be done, but surgery can be painful.

sorry, you won't get any meaningful data here, you're on your own. we have a hard enough time trying to figure if a camry drivers seat will fit in a prius :p

sounds like a fun project, please keep us posted, and all the best!(y)

2.4 into a space designed for a 1.5? Highly doubtful. You might have better luck with a gen 3 though. That starts with a 1.8.

The stock Prius engine barely fits in the engine bay as it is.

Here’s a Prius with a Hellcat engine in it. I guess anything’s possible.

You guys do understand that it's a custom race car frame, etc with prius panels mounted to it, right? There is nothing "Prius" about that vehicle except the panels....exterior and some interior.

I think we all get that. It was clearly explained in the video. Still a bitching car. Think of the aero benefits of the Prius body - with that low Cd that 900 HP Hemi should get at least 25 mpg...

Much more aerodynamic than this one at a car show last Saturday - a homebuilt. 500+ HP and 2000 lbs, but lots of aero drag (and the slicks aren't low rolling resistance). He drove it to the show. 35 miles on 8 gals of E95 or 115 octane racing gas.

Didn't watch the video..................but I've been around enough cars to know....:). And it will probably never be run down a track or at least never make a full power pass.

My curiosity got the better of me and I looked it up. Have to admit I was wrong on this one....
Looks to have made a few passes. Now it just needs an experienced driver to really make it click.

I originally saw the car on Jay Leno’s garage. They do run it on the track.
