1st time was year 2017 Prime Advance....did 20,000 miles and traded for Lexus RX hybrid. Now, back to Prime in a year 2020 “Limited.” I remember the 2017 as transmitting much road noise. Wondering what was done to morph the newer Prime into a much quieter vehicle? Separately, the mpg has changed....in town, full on city driving (Los Angeles), EV battery depleted, I average 63-65 mpg. It happens to drive great too!

    Maybe different OEM tires?

Thx, Dig for Dirt! Left one other item out: the LED headlights. The 2017 Prime had what looked like the same as the 2020....but somethings’ different. The 2020 lights are incredible. They emit a very intense large “square” of light, especially when the hi beam kicks in. I have no idea what changes were made....it’s great tho!

    I wonder if it’s a 2017 thing? My 2018 is quiet (but I can’t compare since I’ve never driven a 2017) but I can confirm the centre-focused high beams.

    Congrats!

Yes congrats @NonFormulaic on your new ride! Depends on the tires. The Nokian Hakkapeliittas I use during winter are much quieter and better riding than the Bridgestones I’m on during construction season. The car doesn’t handle as well on the Nokians because of the softer sidewall so I have to pump them up.
