Here's a few more pics. Waiting a conversion flange so I can bolt the turbo to the manifold. Going to dyno the Prius tomorrow.

And here I was waiting for a shiny tubular manifold....since you have the cast one out, you could port it!

Alright guys, as mentioned in my earlier post we were planning to take both cars to the dyno yesterday to get some pre-turbo numbers, we did and here are some pics and vids. I'll try and scan the dyno sheets for both cars soon as I don't have a scanner here. I would like to thank Ether Tuning in Wytheville, VA for having us out and yes, they we're glad to see a Prius there, especially when they saw the numbers the 2010 put down. The 2010 put down 150hp and 178tq. Yes, you read that correctly. The 2008 put down 98hp and 113tq IIRC, toyotechwv feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on that. Enjoy. :D

Strapping the 2010 down on the dyno.

This video is of my top speed run, which did not have any affect on power to the wheels. The car consistantly did the previously mentioned numbers during all 4 pulls I made. Top speed of the 2010 as indicated by the speedometer is 116MPH, however, the dyno indicated the car was only going 112MPH. So, I think that settles that debate.

The proof is in the pudding.

EDIT: Sorry for crappy vid, settings on camera were wrong. Also, don't know why its laid out like it is, when I try to edit the lay out is correct.

Wow, stock 2010 Prius put out 150 hp? Was Toyota too conservative with their official spec?

I noticed you gave an aftermarket wheels and tires. What is the brand, aspect ratio and weight on it.

The wheels are Drag DR-33's. They are approx 3-4lbs lighter then the 17's that come on Prius V. The tires are Kumho Ecsta SPT's in 215-45-17 size.

SAE numbers were low 160's (hp) IIRC, my numbers posted are what the car made at my altitude.

That's a Mustang dyno too, which are generally thought to read low (at least in the Evo world) as compared to a Dynojet.

^^ Mustangs usually read low. Looks like our little G3s have a bit more power than expected haha

Hello all, just another minor update for you. We did a test fit yesterday and......it fits! :D Got intercooler piping routed and made plans for exhaust as well as oil and coolant lines for the turbo. Was also able to fabricate mounts for the intercooler as well. Here's a few pics for you all, now just to get the rest of the needed parts.

    WOW!

Hat's off to you Josh2008! That's pretty awesome, I do remember watching Speed Channel's test drive on the 2010 Prius and some race car driver commented on how nice it handled and surprisingly powerful.

This thread reminds me of the saying...

"Why does the dog lick his balls?..." - Because he can! :D

You said the max speed you achieved was 116/112mph (display/measured) - but that is the same of the max speed of the stock Prius - I drove it today on the Autobahn at 192km/h=119mph displayed. If I use the same error as per above I get 114mph - the same! So apparently the extra HP are not affecting max speed?

What extra HP are you talking about?
Turbo isn't complete yet. Max speed will be the same as it is electronically limited (car will cut fuel flow).
