Hi just bought a Japanese import wondering if anyone can tell me what the oem is?

The car also has mini disk drive just below the dash on drivers side. Any idea what’s it for and how I can use it?

    Thanks

I don't recall. Could be Panasonic or Pioneer or Denso.

The "drive" on the driver's side I believe is for the electronic toll booth in Japan - it's simply a card holder.

Can I buy a replacement head unit as this is faulty?

I would think almost any of the market head units for the Prius would fit that unit even though it's a JDM spec card the plug should be the same for the same series of vehicle I would think you should be able to add like my wife has the JBL system which I could put in my persona which has a non-JPL system it'll plug right up

So any of the units will plug in without any need to adapt connections or loss of functions eg steering wheel controls, rear camera - correct?

Most of the units I've seen and had out and at the junkyard and I do look have the same plugs generally speaking now if you're trying to add a bunch of features that you don't have there may be one or two high-end units that have a different plug like a 26-pin instead of a 20 you'll have to look at all the head units which you can do that with a push of a button but most of them are the same there may be one or two high-end units that you probably can't find anyway that may take a wider plug or that plug is already back there hanging and not used Toyota used to be real good about this I think now they're clamming up on that kind of thing
