Is there a 200,000 mile club. I bought my 2010 Prius in July 2010 and I am approaching 210,000 miles! I have no problem with the battery pack nor have I replaced the brake pads.My lifetime mpg is 51.9 mpg. My best mpg for a tankful (over 550 miles) was 62.4mpg. I change my oil every 10,000 to 15,000 miles. Have had nothing but regular maintenance.

There isn't a 200,000 mile "club" yet. You are certainly not alone in reaching/passing 200k but in PC I believe your are the only one...
As soon as the 200k club is created, you'll be pointed as the first ;)

Can you provide some pics of the ODO? And as for riding comfort, are you happy?

In what part of the country do you live? Just wondering if your battery pack has to endure cold winters?

    Hi All,

I'm a newbie to this forum but I'm a big Prius fan! I've been renting and driving a 2012 Prius from Avis for the past several weeks and have fallen in love with this vehicle. I'm considering a purchase of a 2010 level IV with 112K miles from a local California Toyota dealer. It's a one owner vehicle and the dealership selling the car sold it to the original owner according to a Car Fax report. My question is: what should I be concerned with in purchasing a Prius with this type of high mileage from a future maintenance/service/repair perspective? Thanks in advance for any and all advice.

Also longtime follower, had nothing to really contribute till now. -91k

    1) Did you replace the HV battery pack?
    No
    2) Did you replace the hybrid transaxle fluid?
    No
    3) Did you replace the brake pads?
    No
    4) Your lifetime MPG (if available)?
Average Gas Milage: 38.7 MPG (Avis) (calculated from fuel pump)
Average Gas Milage: 37 MPG (Defender) - 20k of miles (calculated from fuel pump)
    5) How often do you change your oil? What brand / product did you use?
    Toyota
    6) How about post a picture of 100,000 miles on ODO?
jumped the gun only at 91k
    7) Others
3 accidents, front bumper replaces twice,
    back bumper replaced once
No Frame Damage, small incidents 1 my fault, 2 others
    Only oil changes every 10k.
    3 Tire Changes,
-2 Yokohoma Avis stock changes (first set lasted 40k, 2nd lasted 30k)
    -1 Michelin Defender (current set)

    Complaints:
SUPER UNCOMFORTABLE with the stock tires. after changing to defenders, road noise and comfort improved vastly. Seats still uncomfortable.
Engine sounds angrier now, rougher as it aged
Will probably replace car in 2014. I do really enjoy all the utility in my car, but it's too uncomfortable for long trip. It's doable with the new defenders though.

When should the Transaxle Fluid be changed since I cannot find that suggestion in the service brochure for a Gen III ?

    That's pretty bad.

Have you ever replaced the 12V battery? You might need to. If that's on the verge of going, the engine will stay running to charge that.

In European countries level check is required every 60000km (roughly 40k mi). No change suggested, but many owners do that. I did it at 20k miles.

I am up to 228k - my mileage has dropped to 45mpg in the last few months, but it has also been colder here in NC lately. I am hoping I get back up to my norm of 50mpg once the weather warms up. We'll see in a few weeks I guess.

Time to get this thread active again. Who has hit 100,000 or getting close? I only have 5400 miles on my car.

So far so good (knock on wood), I have 65K miles.
Oil changes every 5K miles with Kendall 0w-20 full synthetic.
Planning to change transaxle fluid at 70K miles.

Why would you dump perfectly good oil, do you only wear your tires to half tread and junk them too?????

Just bought a 2010 with 92k on clock. Changed coolant and transaxel fluid. Had brake booster recall performed. I did replace front brakes had 3mm left of pad and passenger rotor has wear. Put about 3k miles on it in the last 2 weeks. It appears to be solid

Hi milkman44, forgot to mention the vehicle is being used as a Livery Taxi, which requires more frequent oil changes. (A post like would be greatly appreciated).
