Try parking in Washington, DC or New York, NY and see how long your paint on the bumper lasts.

My Camry looked fine at 113k, but I wanted to be sure my Prius did too. If it saves me one shattered headlight...it's paid for itself.

A shattered headlight costs $500 to replace?

I have nothing against folks that put bras on their car...I was just trying to see if there was some cost justification that I was missing.

I wonder why some folks don't just get their entire car wrapped...same theory isn't it?

    From 3M:
    Q. Can I cover the whole vehicle with Scotchgardâ„¢ Paint Protection Film?

    A. It is possible, but the application would be difficult and expensive. This product is really intended for the most vulnerable areas of the vehicle.

We were quoted $425 for the 3M installation for one Prius or $400 each for two. I can't comment as to the durability and longevity because we've had them less than a week. However it is really great to remove all the embedded bugs from the front bumper with a quick wipe of a damp cloth!

As for the install, after watching how much work the trained installers put into it, I wouldn't have even come close to doing a decent job myself. To me it was well worth the $250 in labor versus buying the kit on eBay.

Amen! I'm a real DIYS kind of guy and there is very little I don't at least try myself but after watching a Pro do this job I can say, "No one can do as good on this very difficult install as a pro".
