I'm thinking about installing one on my 2012. However, I've found that the wire loom to the lamp assembly has absolutely no slack to pull the assembly out enough to splice in the wires. I mean there is hardly enough get your fingers around the disconnect to remove the lamp. So, my question is, "Does anyone know of a manufacturer who makes a pigtail extension?". I really hate to have to remove the spoiler to extend the loom inside.

Just take the plastic trim off in the inside. That's what I did to install the 3rd brake flasher. As stated, it was too short and needed an extension.

:)I installed one several months ago. Even with a harness extension, it won't work. Not enough room to install the small module. As stated, you need access to the inside, top portion of the hatch back. The interior panel is in three sections. I removed all three. Once the panels are off, it's a easy install.

I was thinking that would be the case. Thanks, all. I appreciate the suggestions

This is what I had to do when I did mine last year.
