    hello everybody.
i have been following discusions on the priuschat site for the last 3 years.
now after my project i decided to share the results with you so i signed up here.
i own a 3rd gen prius 2011 with 325.000km. up until 2 days ago i had a bad battery. i have a carista obd with dr.prius and tourqe app.
    i diagnosed 10 bad cells.
in a year and a half its gone from bad to worse. year and a half ago i had a check hybrid system error every 1000km or so.
last 6 months it went from 200km to maybe just 10km or less before it showed me the error again.
10 used cells would cost me 500eur plus work so i decided i would try doing it myself even if it kills me...
so i waited and waited and would you know it.... 5 days ago there was an ad for prius 2nd gen for parts. i bought the whole battery for 350eur because we didnt know the state it was in.
thats right! i bought 2nd gen battery.
i bought it because i wanted to see if the cell fit in 3rd gen. nobody on the forum did it yet. i already knew i can sell the shell of the battery to a service center for 200eur which i already did.
    so the result:
2nd gen cells in my 3rd gen are working perfectly after two days.
it cost me 150eur plus 10eur gasoline.
did the work myself roughly 5 hours.

well its been 15 months. i've made a whole lot of kilometers...after the 2nd wave of corona taxi business had a 3 month boom. i admitt i've worked just about nonstop. feared of more corona waves.... made more than 30.000km in 3 months alone. in 15 months since my last post little over 60kkm. i now have almost 400kkm on my gauge and yup.... battery still working fine.

Do you have any update on this? I have a 2010 and found a 2008 with an OEM replaced battery and 30k miles on it I'm debating buying to do the same thing you did.

All modules are the same design and manufacturer from 2004-2015. Toyota has changed supplier/manufacturer for factory replacement batteries with the past 2 years. It is always best to source modules from newer manufacture dates but they will work.
