This is 2010 3rd Gen with 120k miles, since last four months this is the 3rd water pump got burned in it. IDK It's because I'm just using regular coolant? Not one made for Prius?

i would certainly use the correct coolant to see if that is the problem.

are they oem pumps from a toyota dealer?

does the car run fine while they are working?

how many miles did each last?

    were they covered by warranty?

AISIN WPT-190 New OEM Water Pump Kit from Amazon, cost around $200, each time over 5k to 6k, but this time around I'm going to put original coolant from Toyota, also I remember I had to change thermostat first time IDK if that could be causing this issue? There is no CEL, car runs fine. Only when Water Pumpgoes south it starts to overheat

What’s failed in the ones you took out? Is it hard to turn; the impeller is broken?

I'm 7 months and 11K miles in with the same water pump with no issues so far. Unless they got a bad batch or you are getting sent counterfeit ones I'd think there is something else going on or the coolant is the issue like you suspect.

Parts coming out of China have imposter names on them. It's like the fake Gucci handbags that you can get on canal Street. There's a ton of junk coming out of China that may not even work straight out of the box and it has the brand name written on it that emulates other manufacturers. They even make the boxes to look like it too. They make hologram labels etc. But it's all complete trash coming out of China. You would be hard pressed to figure out which one is the real part and which one is the fake Chinese junk. You can't trust this stuff on Amazon. One of these days you're going to break down a thousand miles from home and wish you hadn't tried to save a hundred bucks.

If you knowingly buy Chinese parts: then...if a car from Japan is what you wanted and you know that a Chinese car is junk then why are you putting Chinese parts in a Japanese car

By the way if you need ignition coils don't buy them on Amazon. They last about 2 weeks at best

Are you sure you don't have a failed head gasket? That will cause overheating problems

This looked legit since it's the AISIN's selling account I hope so? I read reviews about fake water pump, and they have the same issues with it as this one, only lasting 4 to 5k before breaking it down.

I paid more than this on Amazon, I wish I knew before, so I can just get it from dealership, sometimes buying parts from them make more sense.

After replacing the water pump car runs fine without any issues, as long water pump stay up and working, IDK if failed head gasket got to do something with it?

How do you know whose account that is? Just because it says it doesn't mean it is. Amazon isn't enforcing

I knew when the 3rd water pump stop working because two days earlier I was driving, and I heard some grinding sound coming from front left side, I thought maybe something stuck underneath, after two days it's overheating light start to flash, and I found coolant were so low on reservoir, other than that there are no indications "as such any misfires? White smoke? Performance issues? Trouble lights?"
