I just got a 2005 Prius, it is getting about 40-43MPG in 50F weather. This is my first time with a hybrid, much less a Prius. Is this normal for this car in this weather, or does something seem wrong.

The 12V seems to be getting about 11.7-11.8 under load.

    Thanks a bunch :)

Tire pressure is about 33PSI, going to increase it most likely from the sounds of other people having it higher.

I would not call it wrong, it is somewhat low.
If you fill out the form, perhaps we can guess why.

159,000 I seem to get better MPG in the 45mph zones and in more traffic than the 55mph roads.
Got 63MPG the other day on a medium length drive for me :)

Replaced battery with a yellow-top also.

Nice numbers, how many miles did you travel when you got 63 MPG? Also, is this a reading off of the MFD or is this manually calculated by filling of the tank?

The Prius is well known to give it's best mileage at about 45 MPH. However, for the record the best ever reported mileage that I am aware of is over 100 MPG by a guy in Japan who hypermiles there. His top speed is 18 MPH.

Was a pretty short drive only about 14 miles on that, because I was still on my old average until I filled up and then 14 miles home. Was calculated by the car.

Ok, please clarify your statement. Forgive me, as I am a old man whose mind is dulled by a lot of pain med's.

I am trying to establish if you reset the MFD, then drove 14 miles to get the 63 MPG OR has your overall average always been in the high number's you are reporting?

I am aware you recently changed your 12 volt battery.

I had around 43 before that on about 300 miles, on the first 14 on the new tank I averaged 63, mostly because of the slower speeds in the city I was in.

Ok, it sounds like you did reset the MFD. Now I understand. Thank you for the clarification.
