    I have no doubt you will continue beating this problem until Toyota either fixes it to your satisfaction or you'll eventually buy something else. If it just isn't comfortable to you, or others, I don't blame you for needing to look elsewhere eventually.

    We wandered around a lot in early Nov 2010, picked out a dusty/neglected Touring, way at the back in a covered shed, said we'll take that one. Build date was Aug 2009.

    Sometimes a thread can just take on a life of its own, this is SO one of those cases.

    So, the problem is you're too tall, so you need to be higher? That makes no sense.

    I'm 5'6" and I don't have that problem. And I don't use lumbar support either. My friend owns a 2012 and he says it's one of the more comfortable cars for him to sit in despite the fact that he's 6'7".

    Because it's easy to get in and out?

    Ever sat in a smart fortwo? It's a really nice driving position. It's about Outback height, almost minivan height. You just slide in and out and on long drives, your legs fall down to the pedals unlike a regular sedan where your legs are stretched out in a more horizontal plane.

    The same can be said for the Echo. The seat position is high and it's comfortable. The problem with these layouts? People want to feel like they're sitting in a car not sitting on the car. The Gen 2's seating position feels higher than the Gen 3 (It probably is, but aiding that feeling is the larger greenhouse)

    Most bucket seats have the butt area (foam) above a spring foundation to mute bumps in road, Front cushion area (foam) sits on rigid metal foundation. Combo can cause rear end to sink down too much while part of the thighs don't. Feels like pooh. Manual seats which almost never have tilt adjustment can add to the problem. Power seats which always have more adjustments can be better plus can adjust position safely WHILE DRIVING.

    10 years ago could only get a 10 way power seat in top trim EX with leather Accord, As of 2008, only the lowest trim didn't have power seat and today the next trim up from base LX gets 10 way power dr. seat. Same likely true of Camry.

    Let's hope the 4th Prius 'interior' is more robust because the top selling cars are all becoming that way.


    What do we really know about the 4th gen? There's not much substance to talk about.

    Might want to hope something very good comes of the 4th Gen Prius considering Prius is THE flagship hybrid and hybrid market share has sunk to 2.x% in this year and PHV share is .2x%. In US

    So, Prius is being blamed for spinal back problems, 6 feet 3 inches tall and have absolutely no issue with the seat.

    Don't you all have electric adjustable lumbar support? I have base equipment (no CC, no BT, no leather steering wheel) but have very useful electric button that really works wonders :)

    I noted that the Prius Team liked Sergiospl's comment and I was hoping there was something to that but now we hear about the next generation Lexus RX 2016 Lexus RX Teased Ahead Of 2015 New York Auto Show Unveiling

    Normal logic says Toyota is unlikely to showcase Prius G4 and another significant car at the same time. Now I'm beginning to wonder whether the Prius Team is deliberately trying to throw us off course or are they just trying to hide the fact that they are clueless.

    It's optional. The electric lumbar support adjustment is only on higher trims with leather (2010-2011) or SoftTex (2012-2015). It's about US$4,000-$5,000 over the base price to get that feature.
