They should hire better looking people to drive mules. The car's supposed to be sportier. You could at least put some sunglasses on the guy, make it look like he's enjoying the drive.

To me, it would be more logical to actually make the drivers uglier because these mules are draped with such camouflaged ugliness.

Enlarge the picture. Between the steering wheel and the mirror, the door trim is higher than the window.

Tideland, it's the instrument cluster, located in front of the driver, not a near-window shape...

I hope I don't get into trouble for this, but these are images of the Toyota magazine we get we when we buy a new Toyota .
It clearly says that the Mirai and new Prius will be shown at the IAA in Frankfurt !!!

I guess the dashboard is covered up just like the rest of the car to protect it from nosy eyes !
I expect the dash to be similar to the 3. gen . Prius but hopefully much more colorful and informative!

What is the front side window about ?
Under all that cover it looks like the window curves upwards at the end of it !?
    Looks strange !
I hope that doesn't mean you can't roll the window completely down !

Edit - Noticed the 'black plastic thing' I previously mentioned below is a reflection of side mirror in window.

Check out the SF video thread: It looks as if some black plastic things are laid on edge of dash to help obscure the ends. I don't think a 'raised doorline / dash and reduced side view' is a new design trend.

They are clearly going to keep it blank in front of steering wheel and have center gauges.

Well look at the opened door. The part in front of (towards the front of the vehicle) the interior door handle rises a tad. I know this is the Camry's interior but it's more obvious in the Corolla because I've driven it for a week and it bugged me lol.

I don't see why you would. It's in a publication that was sent to all Toyota owners in Germany.

I saw a last gen camry today, and the door plastic also curves up over the window... never noticed it before seeing this post.

Gen IV will probably share parts with Toyota Mirai, like center dash display, would like to see a bigger flat touch screen!
2016 Toyota Mirai: Engine: Electric motor making 153 hp, 247 lb-ft of torque? Sweet!

If its the isobutanol the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) approved as the preferred fuel additive over ethanol, probably.

The 'black plastic things' I guessed about earlier seem to be reflection of side mirror in window.

I think the 'angled up piece' is just something added for the camoflouge: It looks hideous, would stick up above a rolled down window and blocks half of the small triangle window (although the side mirror now mounted in the area).

It seems the dash is covered with a white plastic piece. That angled up thing is probably part of it.

Wow, just got back fro a 90 mile trip to and from Martinez. Haven't driven far lately. Wow, for sure, I've got to get out of this ride in a timely manner. Just feels sorta like s%^t to be in, crimped and squeezed between seat bottom and seatback.
. My mistake. I'm curious to see if the 4th gen would be much better, but it would have to be so much more comfortable for me to consider. Being that it will still be a 'smaller' type of car, the odds don't seem good that I will really llike it. We'll see.
