    Hello everyone,

I went to have the oil changed for my 2015 Prius Four. I declined all other services. Can you please take a look at them and let me know what's needed moving forward? Thanks.

Those are all pretty normal. Recommended sales for service for this model I personally don't like to pay those prices but such as life all of that stuff can be done in your driveway or can be done by lots of mechanics for maybe less whatever but everything looks pretty normal nothing jumps out at me real bad I don't know what your mileage is but I'm going to guess around 100,000.

It's only 48K. I know I can replace the engine filter and the cabin filter myself. The others, not so much. :)

I've never taken out the cabin air filter and not replaced it. They tend to get really dirty here in Florida. It's a toolless job from inside the glove box. Should be about $10 shipped in the 48 States. I can't really comment on the rest of them.

we need to know how many miles you have on it.

the best advice is to ignore dealer recommendations an follow the service schedule that came with your owners manual.

These oil change places do this to their "favorite" customers. They target people who look like they'll fall for it. I'm glad they misjudged you and you didn't give them way too much money for something you or a friend could do. Everything on the list is less than $50 combined in parts (via ebay or Amazon) and fluids and doing all of it takes less than a couple hours.

I still have one of the ole mans steel quart cans of that stuff, complete with some yellow electrical tape / writing on it (possibly a date of purchase or something else). I also have two of the new containers after having not been on the market locally for a few decades.
I've been trying to figure out what's the mystery about it by mixing dextron with kerosene in different percentages,
I've also seen it used on naturally aspirated engines straight into the carb while the engine is running.
Not sure what the theory was exactly besides all the while smoke out the exhaust, kinda like the misquito bug spray trucks that used to drive around the towns making fog everywhere they went, with dumb kids following them on their bicycles.

Attached is the maintenance schedule. But there's a "severe use" schedule which halves the oil change interval. "severe use" means cold weather or driving in stop and go traffic.

    Hi guys,

Here's an update. I purchased the parts from the local dealer. I know I could have gotten them cheaper at the local auto parts store. Moving forward....

Cabin air filter cost: $23.74 Toyota Part (Dealer price during service: $34.95)
Engine air filter: $19.15 Toyota Part (Dealer price during service: $29.95)

    2023 Prius Prime savings account: $22.01 :):):)

    Thank you for your input!
