There are persons out there who think the bible is a good source of information about admirable things to do. There's that account of Abraham, directed by god to sacrifice his son Isaac (as some sort of sadistic test of "committment" or "faith" or whatever). It gets a lot of attention in bible classes, as an example of virtuous behavior on the part of Abraham.

One guy in San Diego has made the error of believing it.

I can only suppose, to use Spiderman's words, he knew that he knew.

    How would you know?

Error is correct. God stopped Abraham.

Apparently he did not know (haven't read the article yet)... because if he did know, he would know we are no longer under the law (assuming this guy is in fact a Christian), but we are saved by grace through the sacrifice Jesus made on our behalf. Nothing wecan do (works), can save us.

So have fun with another one of your silly bashing threads... the last one was quit successful.

I've seen people twist Scripture in many ways, but most are only dangerous in subtle ways. This guy was physically dangerous and showed a complete lack of understanding of Scripture and Christianity. Don't put down the Bible over the insanity of a nut job.

I don't find the assertion that the bible is a source of morality to be the least bit credible. Here's a recent video that illustrates how we pick and choose which directives to follow and which to ignore.

There are two things to consider:
    1) We are not going to create a Fred's House of Religion.
    2) We will not tolerate a series of deliberate pro- or anti-religious threads in the general forums.

    Like it or not.
    Stay or leave.
