I tried skimming through topics and even scrolled real quick through the FAQ thread.

Does the A/C and heater run only with Ice? Or is it able to run on EV alone?

Or does A/C run on ice only and heater able to run on EV? (Or vice versa)

It's been getting hot here in SoCal. And was wondering this question.

I hope I worded that correctly as gas as my question. I hope you get what I'm saying.

Heat comes from the ICE, but the good news is that it only takes 3-4 minutes, because the coolant lines run through the exhaust system. We're hoping that Toyota adopts an electric interior heater that works when the PIP is plugged in.

More specifically, the A/C runs on the big traction battery, not the little 12V battery.

Keep in mind that once the coolant is warmed by the engine, it will provide heat for several minutes while the engine is off. So, it will cycle on & off as you drive, allowing EV driving in between without the cabin getting cold.
