I woke up this morning to find that my passenger side front tire was flat. So, I jacked up the car and put on the spare. I work in Los Angeles and tat's about 65 miles from my home. The mini-spare tire didn't make me feel that safe on the freeway so I drove to where I bought my car, Toyota of Oxnard. They looked at the tire, determined that I had caught a nail, fixed it and mounted it ... all for free!!! While they were doing the service I watched CNN on a big screen TV in the customer area and helped myself to gourmet coffee and fresh baked cookies before driving off to work. From Day 1, this dealer has been great!!!

I had a similar experience with my dealer, Metro Toyota of Kalamazoo. A free tire repair, good coffee and warm cookies. Not only that, the first oil change was free. This is a breath of fresh air after many years of staying away from dealership service departments.

dont hold your breath. my neighbor is a service writer for a major dealer. he gets paid commission only as most service writers do. unbelievable some of the things he is trained to do for the bottom line..

C'mon, spill your guts! Tell us some of the sordid things he's done. Remember the expose's years ago when news reporters/investigators found underhanded tactics used by major auto repair chains?

Bottom line, it's all about the bottom line.

yes, there are no individuals in the automotive service industry who hold themselves to any type of ethical standard whatsoever.

Nods ... That's the same kind of nonsensical mindset we lawyers have to deal with as well. It makes about as much sense as saying that all Italians are in the mafia.
