A great way to cover the front bumper drilled license plate holes... using BMW parts!

So since I have a ton of brand new BMW parts laying around from my other car, I used these BMW expanding push clips to cover the holes in my front bumper. I had to use a slightly larger drill bit to further enlarge the hole (tiny amount) and they push in perfectly. I painted and clearcoated them to have a reasonable match with the car. Voila. They work great. They're like a buck each. BMW part# 51498237075. Of course you'll only use the top part of the clip. Discard the lower expanding part. You may find other parts (maybe even Toyota parts) of similar type would work too. But I had these lying around. Nothing beats free. Unless you guys have other parts that you've used?

I've used bumperplugs.com before. From your pic, your BMW rivets look a little more flush.

Nice find. I may never need it, but some people whine so much about those front plate holes as if there's nothing to be done about them.

    Looks good.

Still, you could just put the license plate on, quit being an outlaw. :ROFLMAO:

Agreed... but I've gotta do something to the Prius from looking like every other Prius =p I come from a modified manual transmission BMW 3-Series so I have to do some tasteful things to set my car apart and make it enjoyable as possible. Plus I'm fairly sure the Prius's .25 drag coefficient was achieved without the license plate. That can't be good for aero

I've driven my cars the past 10 years without any front plate. So far so good. In the old days (when I was a kid) i used to get front plate tickets but thats only cause they were tacked on for other driving offenses. I'm older now so I'm (mostly) well behaved =)

Can't say I'm a fan of that. Reminds me of boy racers. Also not a fan of airflow being blocked to the radiator/condenser. (assuming that's what the air flow is for on this particular car)

Then there is the tow hook license plate mount.

Argghhhh that's even worse! Maybe when I was in high school driving a dragging on the ground civic with a $10 exhaust hahaha :) I like the stock factory tasteful premium location if I werre to use a plate. But no plate is optimal! :)
