A long run, but after 12 years, Fob battery replacements

    Wife called. Locked her fob in the Prius. It was buried in her purse as usual. Once I brought the second fob, opened right up. Once we moved the purse, the purse fob worked. Imagine the battery is getting a bit tired. Both are the original. I am thinking about replacing them, but sort of have that Kramer thing going on and am wondering how long they can last.

    And, hey, those 2032 batteries are like $2 each!!!

    I'd say this longevity test result is not worth while to anybody, there are so many variables.........so best to just replace them

    My PRIME 2.5 years old started showing “Key Battery Low Replace Key Battery” on MID a few days ago. Quick change of 2032 coin battery in a fob. All is good now. By far the shortest-lived fob battery I have owned.
